World Rugby Sevens Series men’s tournament is in Los Angeles, 25-26 February
The women’s team, who won Olympic gold at Tokyo 2020, recorded a 33-0 quarter-final win over Japan, and a 41-0 thrashing of Ireland in the semis en route to the final.
Going in as heavy favorites, the Kiwis managed another clean sheet, overpowering France 35-0.
Tenika Willison and Jazmin Felix-Hotham both scored two tries with Portia Woodman-Wickliffe also crossing the line.
It was a third win in a row for the Black Ferns, who are now 12 points clear of their nearest rivals Australia in the standings.
The bronze final was won by the USA, who beat Ireland 12-5.
The tries came from Roderick Solo, Joe Webber, Sam Dickson, Akuila Rokolisoa, Amanaki Nicole, and Ngarohi McGarvey-Black.
Earlier, the Kiwis defeated Samoa 12-0 and France 36-5 in the quarters and semis respectively.
That performance extends their lead in the standings to nine points, ahead of South Africa’s Blitzboks in second.
The next men’s tournament is in Los Angeles, 25-26 February, while the women are next in action in Vancouver, 3-5 March.
